An Interactive Experience is an interactive demonstration of a completed or ongoing research effort, in the form of software or any working prototype or technical solution of direct relevance to HCI. We welcome Interactive Experiences from students and researchers in all stages of their careers. We particularly encourage authors of accepted full and short papers, as well as pictorials, to contribute their demos. Interactive Experiences’ submissions will be published in the conference proceedings. An appealing and innovative demonstration presents an opportunity to display further and disseminate your research and attract attendees’ participation.

Interactive Experiences can have been presented elsewhere before. Note that Interactive Experiences must be about research: the track is not meant for presenting commercial products. Business-related visibility is achieved via sponsorship.

We welcome Interactive Experiences that align with the conference’s core themes and emerging directions in HCI, including but not limited to:

  • Emerging Technologies for HCI: AI-driven interactions, conversational AI, voice interfaces, immersive environments, and human-robot collaboration.
  • Innovative Methodologies for HCI: Co-design and participatory design, end-user development, usability testing, adaptive AI-driven systems, and behavioral modeling.
  • Ethics and Sustainability in HCI Technologies: Accessibility, inclusion, eliminating biases in AI, transparency, privacy, and sustainable design.
  • Social and Organizational Impacts of HCI: Remote collaboration, digital platforms, and human relationships, learning technologies, and enterprise integration.
  • New Frontiers in HCI: Brain-computer interfaces (BCI), haptic and olfactory technologies, cognitive stimulation, cyborg technologies, and human enhancement.

We particularly encourage demonstrations that explore new paradigms in HCI, challenge traditional human-computer dynamics, and address the broader societal, ethical, and environmental implications of emerging technologies. Each Interactive Experience submission will be reviewed by at least two members of the Program Committee. Accepted submissions will be published in the conference proceedings.

ACM has introduced a new open-access publishing model for the International Conference Proceedings Series (ICPS). Authors based at institutions that are not yet part of the ACM Open program and do not qualify for a waiver will be required to pay an article processing charge (APC) to publish their ICPS article in the ACM Digital Library.

Presentation Format

At least one author for each Interactive Experience must register to the conference. Authors will be assigned a time and location to present their demos to CHItaly. Interactive Experiences will be presented according to the plan included in the related submissions.

Interactive Experiences will also have a 1-minute presentation at the plenary session in addition to the dedicated sessions. The presentation must be supported by a video showcasing the demo, max 1 minute.
