CALL FOR INTERACTIVE EXPERIENCES
An Interactive Experience is an interactive demonstration of a completed or ongoing research effort, in the form of software or any working prototype or technical solution of direct relevance to HCI. We welcome Interactive Experiences from students and researchers in all stages of their careers. We particularly encourage authors of accepted full and short papers, as well as pictorials, to contribute their demos. Interactive Experiences’ submissions will be published in the conference proceedings. An appealing and innovative demonstration presents an opportunity to display further and disseminate your research and attract attendees’ participation.
Interactive Experiences can have been presented elsewhere before. Note that Interactive Experiences must be about research: the track is not meant for presenting commercial products. Business-related visibility is achieved via sponsorship.
We welcome Interactive Experiences that align with the conference’s core themes and emerging directions in HCI, including but not limited to:
- Emerging Technologies for HCI: AI-driven interactions, conversational AI, voice interfaces, immersive environments, and human-robot collaboration.
- Innovative Methodologies for HCI: Co-design and participatory design, end-user development, usability testing, adaptive AI-driven systems, and behavioral modeling.
- Ethics and Sustainability in HCI Technologies: Accessibility, inclusion, eliminating biases in AI, transparency, privacy, and sustainable design.
- Social and Organizational Impacts of HCI: Remote collaboration, digital platforms, and human relationships, learning technologies, and enterprise integration.
- New Frontiers in HCI: Brain-computer interfaces (BCI), haptic and olfactory technologies, cognitive stimulation, cyborg technologies, and human enhancement.
We particularly encourage demonstrations that explore new paradigms in HCI, challenge traditional human-computer dynamics, and address the broader societal, ethical, and environmental implications of emerging technologies. Each Interactive Experience submission will be reviewed by at least two members of the Program Committee. Accepted submissions will be published in the conference proceedings.
Accessibility
Interactive Experiences submissions are expected to follow the SIGCHI Guide to an Accessible Submission. Interactive Experiences videos should comply with SIGCHI video accessibility guidelines.

Submission Guidelines
Interactive Experiences submissions must be up to 2 pages (+1 for references), not anonymized. The submission must outline how the authors plan to present their work, with a description of any special equipment for setup that will be required.
All submissions must be formatted according to the ACM single column submission template, available for Word and LaTeX.
LaTeX Template
There are two alternatives:
1. Download the Primary Article Template – LaTeX folder from the ACM website. The correct template for submission is single-column LaTeX.
2. Go to Overleaf and use ACM Conference Proceedings Primary Article Template. The correct template for submission is single-column LaTeX.
For further specifications concerning the ACM format for manuscripts, please, refer to the ACM website.
Manuscripts, in PDF format, must be uploaded via Easy Chair by selecting the proper track (“Interactive Experience” submissions).
Important note to authors about the new ACM open-access publishing model
ACM has introduced a new open-access publishing model for the International Conference Proceedings Series (ICPS). Authors based at institutions that are not yet part of the ACM Open program and do not qualify for a waiver will be required to pay an article processing charge (APC) to publish their ICPS article in the ACM Digital Library.
To determine whether or not an APC will be applicable to your article, please follow the detailed guidance here: https://www.acm.org/publications/icps/author-guidance.
Further information may be found on the ACM website, as follows:

Please direct all questions about the new model to icps-info@acm.org.
Presentation Format
At least one author for each Interactive Experience must register to the conference. Authors will be assigned a time and location to present their demos to CHItaly. Interactive Experiences will be presented according to the plan included in the related submissions.
Interactive Experiences will also have a 1-minute presentation at the plenary session in addition to the dedicated sessions. The presentation must be supported by a video showcasing the demo, max 1 minute.
For complete guidelines on ACM formatting, please consult the ACM website. Submissions must be uploaded in PDF format via Easy Chair.
